Look who has turned 40!

Look who has turned 40!

The date is the third of March 1980. A young Matthew at the age of sixteen sets off on his push bike to his first job. His employer is Cash Tyre Service in Mildura, Victoria and Peter Mills is his first boss.

It was not tyre sales that Matthew was trained for, he was put to work in the re-tread factory. This was very hard, hot, and heavy work even for a teenager, lifting, buffing and re-treading the truck tyres. It was also with this job that Matthew received his boilers certificate, which involved using steam to cook the repairs.

For sixteen years Matthew worked for Peter and then in 1997 he moved to Mandurah with his young family to open Peel Tyre Service.

Matthew and Robyn still continue to run the business after 23 years and Matthew still rides his push bike around.

There is not much that Matthew would not know about in the tyre industry and everyone congratulates him on his birthday anniversary.

Next time you need tyres call in and see Matthew and the team who would be happy to help you.
